Aoise O'Dwyer is a professional freelance violist based in Ireland. As an orchestral musician she has worked with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Camerata Ireland, Wexford Festival Opera Orchestra, Orquesta Filarmónica de Santiago de Chile, Nieuwe Philharmonic Utrecht and Ardesko Kamerorkest. In February of this year she was invited to lead the viola section of a new chamber orchestra, ReClassified.

During the period 2015-2018 Aoise was based in Santiago de Chile, where she performed extensively as part of viola-piano duo Dúo O'Dwyer Meier, specialising in 20th century European repertoire as well as works by lesser known South American composers.

Since returning to Ireland she has continued to explore her love of chamber music, performing with the Arum Chamber Ensemble and the Silver River Trio. Passionate about contemporary music, Aoise has also been involved in the premiers of new works at festivals such as the Conservatorium van Amsterdam Composers Festival (NL), Amsterdam Viola Festival (NL) and Blackfoot Pathways Sculpture in the Wild Artists' Residency (USA).

Aoise was awarded her Bachelor in Performance in 2015 at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she studied with violists Sven Arne Tepl and Richard Wolfe. This September she will commence her Masters in Performance with Simon Aspell at the Cork School of Music.
